Hi! I'm Agent Honey Suckle.
I am on a Miracle Mission to give back to the Children's Hospital. This is our story!
On May 4th 2019, born at 31weeks +4 days and weighing 3 lbs 14oz Noah unexpectedly came into this world. And although there were no complications with the labouring process, we soon after were transfered to the neonatal intensive care unit in London. This is when our journey began, Noah was placed on CPAP due to being younger than 33 weeks gestation, his lungs were still slightly undeveloped. Within in 24hrs Noah developed jaundice , he was placed on a billi blanket with an over head light to help his liver break down the excess billirubin. Just as we thought things were improving, Noah spiked a high fever. A complete sepsis work up was done at this time, the team did a series of blood work, scans, and even a lumbar puncture. From there, intervenous lines were inserted because of the infection, they needed to try and to get a 10 day course of antibiotics to fight off the infection. This was easier said than done, Noah had tiny veins so multiple attempts were made having to change the IV site everyday, we managed to get 7 days of antibiotics. Noah stayed in the NICU for a total of 32 days. If it wasn't for the Children's Hospital, equipment, and staff Noah would not be where he is today; alive, happy and striving.
Your donation to my mission will support specialized paediatric patient care, programs, services and equipment !
