In 2017, Neil McKay ran 132 km during a 24-hour race and raised $8,316.75 for Children’s Health Foundation. In 2023, he completed a 100-mile race, raising $14,165. To date, through his own fundraising runs, and through the Persistence Racing running events he hosts, Neil and the McKay family have been able to raise over $48,000 for Children’s Health Foundation.
Neil runs in honour of his late son Jacob, his daughters Hadley and Eleni, and for all of the children and families who benefit from the support of Children’s Hospital.
In October of 2025, Neil will run 100 kilometres in one day in an attempt to raise $5,000 for Children's Health Foundation.
